Yalelo (U) Limited is a tilapia fish farm established in Uganda in 2019, located in Butembe, Buikwe district on the shores of Lake Victoria. As a subsidiary of First Wave Group B.V, a Dutch company with aquaculture assets in Africa, Yalelo Uganda contributes to sustainable aquaculture development in the region. First Wave Group also operates Yalelo Zambia, a leading fish farm in Africa.
Job Summary:
The HR Assistant will handle daily administrative and HR tasks, supporting functions such as recruitment, performance management, and personnel file maintenance. This role also involves providing clerical support to all employees.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist with day-to-day HR functions.
- Provide clerical and administrative support to HR executives.
- Maintain accurate personnel records and update HR systems.
- Support recruitment processes, including shortlisting and scheduling interviews.
- Assist in performance management and appraisal coordination.
- Coordinate staff motivation and welfare activities.
- Counsel staff on policies and procedures.
- Track staff attendance, shifts, and leave.
- Maintain employee records and ensure compliance with labour laws.
- Respond to employee queries and concerns.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Industrial & Organizational Psychology, or related field.
- One year of experience in a similar role.
- Problem-solving skills and knowledge of labour laws.
- Strong interpersonal and presentation skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
- Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks.
- Organized, accurate, and able to monitor work quality.
