Job Opportunity: Field Programme Manager

Jhpiego, a global leader in transformative healthcare solutions, is seeking a Field Programme Manager to oversee project implementation in Mukono or Wakiso district. The successful candidate will provide management and technical leadership to ensure the delivery of quality healthcare services and strengthen district capacities in public health.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain partnerships with district authorities, health management teams, and private sector stakeholders.
- Lead the development and implementation of evidence-based work plans focused on RMNCAH, nutrition, IPC/WASH, malaria, and public health emergencies.
- Supervise district-based project teams and ensure effective operations and staff mentorship.
- Drive stakeholder engagement and foster collaboration to enhance resource optimization.
- Coordinate technical meetings to review program performance and identify solutions for implementation challenges.
- Represent the Urban Health Activity at district-level forums and advocate for project goals.
- Support the monitoring and evaluation team to enhance HMIS reporting by both public and private sectors.
Qualifications and Experience
- Master’s degree in Public Health or a related field; MBA is an advantage.
- Bachelor’s degree in Medicine, Nursing, Midwifery, Nutrition, Pharmacy, or Social Sciences.
- 8+ years of experience in donor-funded health programs, with at least 4 years in supervisory roles within INGOs.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Uganda’s health system, particularly in RMNCAH and integrated service delivery.
- Proven experience supporting private health facilities to expand access and implement quality improvement initiatives.
- Familiarity with USAID or USG administrative and reporting procedures.
Key Competencies
- Leadership and team management skills.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement abilities.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Willingness to travel within the Kampala metropolitan area.
