Job Listing: Research Enumerators (Full-Time)

Job Summary:
The Research Enumerators will conduct high-quality data collection for children, teachers, and other participants using surveys, observation forms, in-depth interview guides, and focus group discussion guides. The role includes ensuring confidentiality, accuracy, and compliance with ethical research standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Attend training to understand objectives, methodologies, and data collection tools.
- Approach and request participation from Tutors/ToTs, Headteachers, Teachers, and pupils.
- Conduct surveys, observations, interviews, and focus group discussions following guidelines.
- Record, submit, and synchronize high-quality data using tools like CommCare and Tangerine.
- Respond to supervisor feedback to ensure data quality.
- Maintain ethical and professional conduct while upholding child safeguarding principles.
- Participate in debriefing meetings and work over weekends when necessary.
- Travel to data collection sites (transport provided).
- Perform other tasks assigned by the Research Supervisor.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Education: Diploma/Bachelor’s degree in fields such as Education, Social Sciences, Community Psychology, Economics and Statistics, or related fields.
- Experience:
- Prior work with refugees in Uganda is an advantage.
- Skilled in classroom observations, interviews, and focus group discussions.
- Experience with data collection tools like CommCare, Tangerine, Survey CTO, or Kobo Collect.
- Proficient in MS Excel and Word.
- Experience in transcription and handling both quantitative and qualitative research.
- Prior NGO experience in a similar role is desirable.
- Languages: Fluency in one or more of the following: English, Bari, Lugbara, Aringa, Acholi, or Madi.
- Other Skills: Strong ability to learn quickly, listen attentively, and interpret questions effectively.
