Job Title: Programme Accountant

Job Purpose:
The Programme Accountant will provide essential financial technical support to the programme/cluster, ensuring compliance with World Vision accounting policies, procedures, and international financial standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Management:
- Review and process voucher files and requests for accuracy and completeness.
- Manage mobile money transactions, ensuring reconciliations are completed accurately by the 10th of each month.
Financial Planning & Budget Management:
- Prepare and consolidate programme budgets, upload them to Horizon, and manage SharePoint updates.
- Monitor budget limits and cash flows, identifying variances and providing explanations by the 13th of each month.
Financial Reporting:
- Generate and review Sun systems and financial reports monthly, discussing findings with the cluster team and filing final reports by the 15th of each month.
Risk Management:
- Lead internal and external audits for the cluster, ensuring audit recommendations are addressed within 90 days.
- Update asset registers quarterly to monitor programme assets and conduct routine field visits to verify resource allocation.
Capacity Building:
- Offer technical financial support and hands-on guidance to Assistant Accountants, programme staff, and partners within the cluster.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Auditing.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, ideally in a technical or business capacity within finance.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Vision Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SUN Accounting, and Access; understanding of GAAP and internal control procedures.
- Professional Qualifications: Partial completion of ACCA, CPA, CA, CIA, CMA, or equivalent.
- Additional Skills: Knowledge of project management, strong communication abilities, and cultural sensitivity.
- Other Requirements: High integrity, team-oriented, and ability to travel domestically and internationally.
Working Conditions:
Frequent domestic and occasional international travel required to ensure effective financial management and compliance.
