Job Overview:
The Communications Officer will support communication initiatives in alignment with the ALAMIME project’s vision and mission. The role will focus on preparing and distributing content to promote project activities and serve as a liaison between the project, public, and media. The officer will also work to keep the project brand visible while managing various media engagements and online publications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Communication Strategy Development: Review and revise the project’s communication strategy in collaboration with project staff.
- Publications Development: Produce monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, and update communication materials.
- Alumni Coordination: Manage alumni activities for the ALAMIME project.
- Events Planning: Organize meetings, dissemination activities, and document events, working closely with the MakSPH Communications office.
- Media Engagement: Plan and manage public information programs, ensuring effective media relations.
- Online Publishing: Develop and update content for online platforms, blogs, and engage with relevant websites to promote the project.
- Monitoring & Evaluation: Oversee M&E of communication activities.
- Other Duties: Perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication or an equivalent field.
- A postgraduate qualification in Mass Communication, Social Sciences, or Health Promotion is preferred.
- Experience: At least 3 years of relevant experience in a communications officer role.
- Experience with media and proficiency in French will be an added advantage.
- Skills:
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Strong documentation, media engagement, and social media management abilities.
- Ability to produce reports and monitor media coverage.
