Position: Data Centre, Power Management, and Passive Design Engineer
Function: Networks
Reporting to: Network Infrastructure Manager
Job Purpose: To implement and supervise core locations operations & maintenance, project design, activity planning, core locations spares/inventory control, project quality, passive RFI & survey, and core location standards assurance.
Key Result Areas:
- Passive outage analysis, troubleshooting, RCA, and reporting.
- Routine power audits, checks, and reporting.
- Implementation and supervision of preventive, predictive & corrective maintenance.
- On-site passive routine systems checks and reporting.
- Responsible and accountable for passive spares at core locations.
- Monitoring the performance of passive contractors and ensuring delivery within agreed SLAs.
- Activity planning, impact analysis, and quality assurance.
- Routine visits to review contractor performance.
- Ensuring core location standards are adhered to by all location users.
- Passive survey and RFI support.
- Project BOQs validation.
- Suggesting and innovating OPEX reduction projects.
- Implementing, monitoring, and supervising key OPEX reduction projects.
- Handling customer (internal/external) requests.
- Reviewing customer requirements.
- Core location access management.
- Ensuring adherence to company processes.
- Ensuring compliance with partner contracts and escalating improvements where required.
- Ensuring occupational health and safety standards adherence at all core locations.
Ideal Candidate:
- Bachelor of Engineering degree or related fields.
- Professional Certification will be an added advantage.
- Minimum 3 years’ work experience in a similar role.
- Exhibits a good level of creativity and resourcefulness.
- Capable of guiding and transferring knowledge.
- Possesses analytical, presentation, negotiation, and leadership skills.
