Job Summary:
We are seeking to recruit an Internal Audit Assistant to support the Senior Internal Auditor and the Internal Auditor in conducting various types of audits and reviews. The role involves determining the adequacy of internal controls, efficiency of policies and procedures in line with professional standards, and adherence to applicable laws and regulations.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Internal Audit Assignments:
– Support in the preparation of basic documentation for audits, performing tests, and following the audit programme.
– Document work done, conclusions, findings, and risk implications.
– Compile working papers and file sections in the prescribed format.

2. Follow up External Audit and Internal Audit recommendations:
– Assist in the follow-up of implementation of audit recommendations.
– Input findings and recommendations, prepare working papers, and update trackers.

3. Administrative support for the Internal Audit department:
– Organize appointments with appropriate leaders.
– Contribute to the preparation of the budget and annual work-plan.
– Document and file minutes for departmental meetings.
– Handle administrative tasks for audit trips.
– Prepare periodic requisitions for office supplies.
– Manage cash advances for assignments.
– Support in tracking department budget.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
– Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a relevant discipline.
– Enrolled for a professional accounting qualification.
– One year of working experience in a medium-sized organization.
– Proficiency in MS Office packages (especially Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and MS Project).
– Ability to meet tight deadlines with a strong work ethic.
– Willingness to learn and adapt.
– Confidentiality in handling sensitive information.
– Quality Assurance: Periodic self-assessment reviews against audit work.
