Ministry of Health Profile:
The Ministry of Health (MOH) has received a grant from the Center for Diseases Control and Prevention (CDC) Cooperative Agreement (CoAg), a strategic mechanism of the United States Government (USG) to implement activities in line with its mandate in support of the Public health response to HIV/AIDS and other health systems. CDC will be supporting a pool of Human Resources that are expected to lead the implementation of the grant. The staff to be recruited under this grant will be contracted by the MOH. The contracts are for one (1) year renewable subject to availability of funds and satisfactory performance of the staff.
Job Summary:
Providing Quality Nursing Services in the facility and the Community.
Roles and responsibilities:
- Administering treatment as prescribed.
- Carrying out nursing procedures.
- Carrying out procedures, keeping records and ensuring their safe custody.
- Participating in ward rounds.
- Receiving and registering patients.
- Adhering to aseptic procedures.
- Carrying out health education.
- Participating in primary health care.
- Adhering to ethical profession code of conduct.
Key Outputs:
- Quality nursing services
- Infection prevention and control measures implemented.
- Accountability for available equipment, supplies and drugs provided.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must have Enrolled Nursing or Comprehensive Nursing Certificate from a recognized
- Candidates with additional training in HIV/Aids Care Treatment will have an added
- Must be enrolled with Uganda Nurses and Midwives’ Council and with a valid practicing license.
- At least two (2) working experience with HIV/Aids Clinic
