Job Location: Uganda

Job Summary:

The Childcare Provider will be responsible for taking care of our child in our home.  Our child is two months old.  The main duties will include educating and playing with the child, putting the child to sleep according to the daily plan, completing household chores, accompanying the child to play groups and preparing meals.

Roles and Responsibilities:

The Childcare Provider will have responsibilities that are closely connected to all aspects of our child’s well-being.

• Educating the child by speaking with him, singing with him and reading with him
• Supervising the child as he takes part in his daily activities
• Create and implement a daily schedule with the child
• Create order in the child’s living space
• Providing an environment that enables the child to safely learn and play
• Accompanying the child to scheduled activities and appointments
• Developing the child’s mind through activities
• Comforting the child
• Caring from the child including changing his clothes and diapers
• Cleaning the child’s living space
• Working with the family cook to prepare meals for the child
• Completing other tasks related to the child’s safety and well-being

Minimum Qualifications

The Childcare Provider should have a demonstrable passion for working with children.  Various skills and experience include:

• Patience and flexibility with children and ability to make children receptive to your requests
• Excellent written and oral communication skills especially WhatsApp and SMS communication
• English proficiency is a must; French, Swahili and/or other language fluency strongly preferred
• A gentle, friendly and optimistic spirit
• A sense of humor
• Organizational skills and a proficiency for creating and establishing order
• Experience in Montessori is a significant plus
• Problem solving skills
• A bachelor’s degree or similar experience in education, early childhood development or related field is highly preferred; experience as an educator is highly preferred

Salary & Other Considerations

• The salary will be extremely competitive
• Ability to live in at the child’s home is strongly preferred (Monday through Friday)
