Heritage International School is an all-age Christian international school located in the suburbs of Kampala, Uganda. It opened in 1994 to support children of ex-pat missionaries but has since expanded to welcome those of all faiths and none, whilst still remaining true to its core Christian values. We have over 40 nationalities represented and are currently moving towards our full capacity of 550 students.
Job Profile:
We are looking for a qualified English teacher with the ability or experience in teaching Drama. Our Christian school invites committed Christians who are yearning for a nourishing atmosphere that provides the opportunity to integrate one’s faith into his/her’s professional practice.
The ideal candidate must be an internationally qualified and experienced Secondary Teacher of English with relevant or transferable skills to the field of Drama. Qualifications in other English related electives such as creative writing and journalism would be highly desirable.
Roles and responsibilities:
At Heritage, English Language and Literature is taught using the Common Core State Standards (American Curriculum) across grades 6-12. The hired teacher will mainly teach grades 6-8. Are you a passionate and dedicated professional who is able to foster creativity, develop critical thinking as well as analytical skills? We expect our teachers to be reflective practitioners who can evaluate their own practice and develop the learning in their classroom. We are also interested in teachers who have experience of using dynamic and creative ways to biblically integrate the curriculum.

Qualifications
- Enthusiastic and growing Christian with the heart of service
- BA(Hons) degree or higher in relevant subject or a BEd degree
- Teacher qualification (QTS, PGCE) or full teacher certification from home country
- Two years relevant experience preferred
- International experience
- Two year commitment preferred
