Job Profile:
The Art Director is responsible for the overall visual aspects of an advertising or media campaign and coordinates the work of other artistic or design staff, such as the graphic designers.
Roles and Responsibilities:
• Determine how best to represent a concept visually.
• Determine which photographs, art, or other design elements to use for a specific campaign.
• Develop the overall look or style of a publication, an advertising campaign.
• Manage graphic designers, or other design staff
• Review and approve designs, artwork, photography, and graphics developed by other staff members
• Talk to clients to develop an artistic approach and style
• Coordinate activities of the creatives.
• Present designs to management for approval.
• Generating clear ideas and concepts in tandem with the copywriter.
• Producing sketches, storyboards, art layouts based on creative visions and ideas.
Minimum Qualifications:
Skills.
• Proficient use of InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator or other visual design and wire-framing tools.
• Proficiency with computers, especially MS Office and graphic design software.
• Demonstrable graphic design skills with a strong portfolio.
• Team player with strong communication and presentation skills.
• Hands on experience with logo design, typography, color, web layout design, print production, image selection and package design.
Qualifications.
• A qualification in Fine Art, Graphic Design or any related field of study.
• Ability to ably use computer aided drawing programs like adobe CC
• At least 2 years working experience in a similar role
