About the Role:
True North Consult Ltd is seeking a Warehouse Manager to oversee receipt, dispatching, and storage of finished goods while managing warehouse staff and ensuring security, sanitation, and administrative efficiency. The position is based in Kampala, Uganda and reports to the General Manager of Operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage finished goods, raw materials, packaging materials, and consumables warehouse in Mbarara.
- Ensure accurate daily stock-taking and proper system reconciliation without variances.
- Manage customer order fulfillment to reduce turnaround time.
- Plan and monitor the receipt, storage, dispatch, and loading of finished goods.
- Implement quality processes to ensure customer deliverables are met.
- Ensure accurate documentation for goods in and out, including proper labeling.
- Review sales forecasts to maintain sufficient inventory for sales orders.
- Reconcile customer invoices, stock transfers, GRNs, and delivery notes.
- Supervise warehouse and technical store teams, addressing grievances and promoting productivity.
- Develop and oversee training programs for warehouse staff.
- Support the Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) team to implement safety standards.
- Maintain metrics, KPIs, and training/safety records for warehouse activities.
- Establish and enforce policies and procedures for warehouse activities in line with quality standards.
- Drive efficiency, reduce costs, and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Set and monitor security procedures for the warehouse.
- Ensure proper maintenance of vehicles, machinery, and equipment.
- Maintain a clean and efficient working environment, adhering to FIFO practices.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
- Education:
- Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Inventory Management, Materials Management, or a related field.
- Experience:
- At least 8 years of relevant working experience.
Competencies:
- Technical skills in logistics, supply chain, and inventory management.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and enterprise IT systems like ERP, WMS, and TMS.
- Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of macroeconomics, materials market dynamics, and cost implications.
- Leadership, interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Organizational skills with attention to detail and time management.
Responsibilities for Finances and Assets:
The Warehouse Manager will oversee budgeting and manage stocks and work tools under their custody.
