Job Summary
The Senior Finance Officer will support the IMPACT Country Representative by facilitating financial management, budgeting, monitoring, and reporting for IMPACT/REACH teams in Uganda and Sudan. The role involves collaborating with regional and HQ finance teams and ensuring adherence to donor requirements and internal financial protocols.
Key Responsibilities
Hierarchical Relations:
- Reports to: IMPACT Country Representative SDN
- Manages: None
Functional Relations:
- Internal stakeholders: IMPACT Regional Finance Officer, Finance Controller, PD & Grants Officer, Research Managers, ACTED Finance Departments.
Objectives:
- Serve as the focal point for finance-related tasks for IMPACT Sudan.
- Prepare and monitor donor-funded budgets.
- Ensure expenditure aligns with approved budgets.
- Prepare financial reports and provide financial guidance to IMPACT SMT members.
- Communicate financial risks and opportunities to the Country Representative.
Financial Tools & Oversight:
- Update financial tools (e.g., CFU, staff allocation tables, BFUs).
- Regularly review and reconcile financial reports.
- Conduct quarterly financial reviews with the Country Representative.
- Ensure compliance with donor requirements and internal policies.
Miscellaneous:
- Provide support to REACH FLATS teams for financial operations.
- Travel to field missions when required for financial monitoring.
- Assist with other finance and compliance tasks as necessary.
Key Performance Indicators
- Timely updates of financial information.
- Proactive identification of financial issues or gaps.
- Provide detailed and accurate budget recommendations.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field; CPA/ACCA certification preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years in a similar role, preferably in NGOs or financial institutions.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Knowledge of financial reporting software (e.g., Project Insight).
- Analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Ethical conduct and ability to work collaboratively.
- Knowledge of public donor regulations is an advantage.
