Job Summary

The Project Manager will coordinate the timely execution of projects at BRAC Uganda Bank Ltd (BUBL) within cost and quality parameters to support the achievement of the bank’s strategy.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Project Governance, Planning, and Initiation
    • Establish and maintain standards and processes for project management at BUBL.
    • Contribute to the formulation of the Bank’s strategy and annual work plans, collaborating with departments to prioritize and integrate projects into annual strategic plans.
  2. Project Execution
    • Lead the Women’s Economic Empowerment project and other assigned projects from requirements definition to implementation, benefits realization, and closure.
  3. Product Development
    • Participate in the creation and refinement of product concepts as part of the Women’s Economic Empowerment project and other related initiatives.
    • Implement pilot tests, rollout protocols for new products and services, and monitor their progress.
    • Train and/or sensitize staff on new and refined financial products and services.
  4. Change Management
    • Develop and execute change management plans to ensure successful user adoption of new projects and products.
  5. Knowledge Management
    • Conduct post-implementation reviews of projects and document findings.
    • Coordinate research, learning activities, and share lessons learned with relevant stakeholders.
  6. People Management
    • Build and develop project teams to ensure optimal performance.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Project Management, or related field.
    • Postgraduate training or certification in project management is an added advantage.
  • Experience:
    • At least 5 years of working experience in banking, with knowledge of banking products and operations.
    • Proven experience managing complex projects successfully.
  • Skills:
    • Proactive problem-solving and analytical skills.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Attention to detail and multitasking capabilities.
    • Thorough knowledge of operational and credit processes in banking.
    • Understanding of banking laws, risk management, and legal issues related to banking.
    • Knowledge of core banking systems and digital financial services.
    • Strong numerical and analytical skills.
