Job Title: Regional Managers (Full-time)

Job Summary

The Regional Managers will lead business growth across designated branches, focusing on the development of a quality loan portfolio, deposits growth, and balancing social and financial objectives.

Key Result Areas:

1. Business Growth (Sales Management and Customer Satisfaction)

  • Oversee the implementation of regional growth strategies and expansion plans.
  • Conduct personal sales activities targeting high-end potential customers (SMEs, corporates, cooperatives, etc.).
  • Engage with existing and potential customers to understand their needs, complaints, and areas for improvement.
  • Ensure optimal staffing in branches in line with budget and growth strategy.
  • Coordinate sales activities with branch managers and marketing to achieve regional performance targets.
  • Ensure staff understanding of the bank’s policies, products, and services.
  • Train all staff on sales techniques to enhance customer interactions.
  • Maintain branch premises according to set standards.

2. Internal Controls and Portfolio Quality

  • Manage the loan asset quality, ensuring branches meet asset quality thresholds.
  • Chair loan recovery committee meetings bi-weekly for branches with PAR30D above 5%.
  • Conduct regular spot checks, including credit committees, customer visits, and policy knowledge interviews.
  • Ensure audit findings are addressed and resolutions are documented.
  • Track and resolve audit findings in alignment with action plans.

3. Risk Management and Compliance

  • Review audit and risk findings with branch managers and ensure action plans are followed.
  • Ensure HR involvement in disciplinary actions from audit findings.
  • Escalate non-compliance and suspicious activities to the compliance department.
  • Maintain compliance with Finance policies, BOU regulations, and risk management frameworks.
  • Ensure timely closure of audit, risk, and BOU findings to avoid repeat issues.

4. People Management

  • Promote OBUL’s Mission, Vision, and Code of Conduct among employees.
  • Manage performance of Branch Managers and supervise regional staff’s performance.
  • Recommend inter-branch relocations to optimize staffing efficiency.
  • Propose and oversee team-building activities to encourage teamwork.
  • Coach branch managers on leadership, staff management, and business growth skills.
  • Identify and develop high-potential staff in collaboration with HR.
  • Ensure regional staff have necessary skills, identifying training needs as required.
  • Communicate key management decisions across the region.

5. Planning, Reporting, and Other Duties

  • Provide regular reports to the CRO on regional performance and highlight key issues.
  • Develop annual growth strategies aligned with the bank’s strategic plan.
  • Contribute to the development of annual budgets for the region.
  • Report unresolved IT, administrative, and structural issues promptly to the CRO.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field (Master’s is an advantage).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the banking sector, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.

Personal Skills and Abilities

  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Advanced people management and motivational skills.
  • Understanding of sales management, customer service, credit, and risk management.
  • Proven report writing and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office; knowledge of core banking systems is a plus.

Work Hours: Full-time (8 hours/day)
