Job Opening: Accounts Officer (Full-time)

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Record sales and collections, review GL accounts, and reconcile customer accounts.
• Review BSP sales records and process airline accounting invoices.
• Check and record tax accruals on sales in compliance with each country’s policies and regulations.
• Track contract renewals and coordinate with the Sales team on customer account statuses.
• Research cash receipts, coding, and posting of receipts.
• Assist in the month-end close process with journal entries, reconciliations, and various analyses.
• Support quarterly reviews and annual audit requests.
• Review issued or refunded tickets.
• Review all expenses, prepare invoices or credit notes for GSA leases, chartered flights, and regular flights, and coordinate payments.
• Collaborate with other financial sectors to finalize tasks.
• Reconcile accounts to clear Customer & GL accounts.
• Manage the Revenue Accounting System.
• Handle Interline Billing and Rejection Memo in accordance with IATA rules.
• Manage ticket proration through the revenue accounting system as per filing rules.
• Assist in the development and implementation of new or upgraded financial systems.
• Ensure adherence to revenue recognition policies and procedures.
• Capture and process flight coupon data for the accountancy and balance of an airline.
• Conduct revenue audits and report findings to prevent revenue leakage.
• Perform bank reconciliations for collection accounts.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

• University degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• Airline industry experience is an advantage.
• Professional qualification (at least Level I of CPA/ACCA/ACA).
• Experience in a finance function and familiarity with month-end processes.
• Knowledge of airline revenue accounting systems is an added advantage.
