Job Overview:

The Youth Coordinator will provide technical support and build the capacity of local partners to effectively deliver youth programs to refugees and new arrivals. This role focuses on youth engagement, particularly within humanitarian settings, and seeks to foster positive change through youth participation.

Salary Range: UGX 5,463,120 – 7,476,656
Reports to: Program Development and Quality Manager

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and provide direct technical support on youth engagement and participation.
• Support Civil Society Organizations (CSO) Implementing Partners for youth engagement and participation.
• Contribute to program quality control, learning, and adaptive management.
• Reporting and coordination with external stakeholders and partners.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Education: Degree or post-graduate qualification in Social Sciences, Social Work and Social Administration, or any youth-related course.
• Experience:
  • Minimum of 5 years in participatory programming for youth and vulnerable groups, particularly in advocacy for vulnerable populations such as refugees and persons with disabilities.
  • Experience in partnership management, especially with CSOs, and within the humanitarian sector in Uganda.
  • Experience in facilitating training, workshops, and mentoring staff.
  • Understanding of group dynamics for youth and vulnerable groups in humanitarian settings is an added advantage.
• Skills:
  • Strong belief in youth’s potential to influence positive change through participation.
  • Excellent organizational skills, self-motivation, and ability to work under pressure.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, facilitation, and mentorship skills.
  • Fluency in English; knowledge of languages spoken in West Nile/Northern Uganda is an asset.
  • Proficiency in computer use, report writing, and documentation.
