Salary: UGX 9,000,000 – 9,500,000 (dependent on skills and experience)
About the Role:
The Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) Manager will be a member of the Uganda SMT and will lead the Monitoring and Evaluation of Ripple Effect’s national projects in Uganda. This role works closely with the Country Director and Head of MERL to lead the M&E tasks for Uganda, including strategy tracking, project monitoring and evaluation, new project design, analysis, and dissemination of findings. Additionally, the role supports the interpretation of M&E findings through analysis, facilitates beneficiary participation, and supports project managers to integrate key findings into project reports. It also contributes to the design and implementation of M&E systems, provides training to country teams, and coordinates with other departments to ensure data supports organizational objectives and compliance. Ultimately, the role contributes to Ripple Effect’s mission of sustainable development and positive change.
About You:
As the suitable candidate for the position of Monitoring & Evaluation Manager, you should possess:
- A degree in relevant fields including Social Sciences, Community Development, Statistics, Economics, or related areas.
- An advanced degree in Social Sciences, Monitoring and Evaluation, Community Development, or related field and Research methodology is desirable.
- Significant practical working experience in M&E with strong project cycle management.
- Strong knowledge and demonstrated practical experience in M&E methodology (particularly appropriate quantitative and qualitative/participatory research methods), data analysis, and report writing.
- Experience with field data collection processes.
- Proven capacity to build the M&E skills of colleagues, partners, and community members.
- Good understanding of monitoring and evaluation including tracking progress against objectives, development of Theory of Change, Log-frames, indicators, etc.
- Experience in designing mobile data collection forms with ODK-based digital data collection software.
- Knowledge of statistical software packages (e.g., SPSS and advanced Excel) and experience working with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI).
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to work with different ranges of data, quantitative and qualitative analysis.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- As a team player, being culturally sensitive, able to command respect from peers, ability to train and mentor others, and ability to solve problems and take corrective action.
