Job Summary
The Nurse will provide nursing services to children, including health education, counselling, nutritional planning, nursing consultations, and other health requirements as directed by the supervisor.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Patient Monitoring: Assess patients’ conditions to provide optimal care and advice.
- Symptom Interpretation: Observe and interpret symptoms, communicating them to physicians.
- Care Plans: Collaborate with physicians and House Parents to create individualized care plans for children.
- Routine Procedures: Perform routine procedures and document patient charts.
- Medication Administration: Adjust and administer medication, providing treatments.
- Facility Inspection: Inspect facilities to maintain hygiene and safety standards.
- Emergency Care: Provide immediate medical care in emergencies.
- Supportive Environment: Foster a supportive and compassionate care environment.
- Vitals Monitoring: Monitor patient vitals to detect changes in health and pain.
- Procedure Setup: Set up procedures with the necessary tools, maintaining supply inventory.
- Environment Maintenance: Ensure a safe and clean working environment by following procedures and regulations.
- Communication: Communicate clearly with children, providing emotional support.
- Reporting: Provide monthly reports on children’s status to the Head Office.
- Coordination: Continuously coordinate with House Parents.
- Additional Duties: Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
- Education: A Degree in Nursing. A Certificate in Para-Counselling and good clinical practice is an added advantage.
- Experience: Up to three years of working experience in a child-related environment.
- Skills:
- Computer literacy and documentation skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Goal-oriented, organized team player
- Ability to work well with management and staff at all levels
