Job Summary: This leadership role oversees the entire credit risk management framework for the organization. The position is responsible for defining risk appetite, developing and implementing risk assessments for new products, pricing new and existing products, setting credit strategy and lending decisions, building state-of-the-art scoring and decision models, managing the impairment provision process and developing IFRS9 models, ensuring regulatory compliance, and establishing a top-tier collections function.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the credit risk management framework.
  • Define the organization’s risk appetite.
  • Develop and implement risk assessments for new products.
  • Price new and existing products.
  • Set credit strategy and lending decisions.
  • Build and manage scoring and decision models.
  • Oversee the impairment provision process and develop IFRS9 models.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Build and run a best-in-class collections function.

Desired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Education: University degree in Economics, Statistics, Accountancy, Finance, or related field. A Master’s degree in a relevant field and professional qualification in credit risk management are added advantages.
  • Experience: At least 8 years’ experience in a financial institution within the Credit function, with at least 5 years at a managerial level in Credit, Risk, Corporate lending, policy, credit analysis, and credit approval.
  • Skills:
    • Strong mentoring and leadership skills.
    • Proficiency in statistical analysis, including regression and time series analyses.
    • Understanding of risk factors impacting credit quality of portfolios.
    • Strong quantitative credit risk modelling skills (PDs, LGDs, EADs, vintage analysis, migration matrices).
    • Knowledge of portfolio credit metrics (limits, expected and unexpected loss, capital allocation).
    • Ability to work well under pressure and engage with senior management.
    • Proficiency in data analysis, data modelling, and validation tools.

Work Hours: 8 hours per day
Experience in Months: 96 months (8 years)
Level of Education: Bachelor’s Degree
