The UPDF is committed to maintaining peace and security, and it plays a vital role in humanitarian and disaster relief operations within Uganda and across the region.
Job Description:
The UPDF is announcing additional recruitment opportunities in various categories to expand its team. This recruitment is in addition to the recently concluded recruitment of S.4 leavers. Successful candidates will join the UPDF and serve in various capacities, contributing to the defence and security of Uganda.
Qualifications:
UACE (S.6) Science-Based Combinations:
- Applicants must have at least a principal pass in Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, and Geography, plus subsidiaries in the following combinations:
- PEM (Physics, Economics, Mathematics)
- PCM (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics)
- PCB (Physics, Chemistry, Biology)
- BCM (Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics)
- MEG (Mathematics, Economics, Geography)
Degrees or Diplomas in:
- Civil Engineering
- Telephone Engineering
- Automotive Engineering
- Computer Engineering
- Aircraft Maintenance Engineering
- Electronic Engineering
- Cyber Security
- Computer Forensics
- Computer Science
- Aero Space
- Masons
- Electricians
- Painters
- Specialized Fabricators
- Carpenters
- Heavy Engineering Equipment Operators
- Heavy Engineering Equipment Mechanics
General Requirements:
- Age: 18-28 years
- National Identity Card
- Letters from LCI and LCII Chairpersons, GISO, and DISO.

- Application period: From 19th June 2024 to 3rd July 2024.
- Application Review:
- Applications will be scrutinized from 4th July 2024 to 10th July 2024.
- The list of successful applicants will be uploaded on the website from 11th July 2024 to 14th July 2024.
- Reporting for Screening:
- Candidates who find their names on the website must report to the Land Forces Headquarters in Bombo on 15th July 2024 for screening, which includes medical and physical fitness tests.
