It also operates NTV, the biggest and most popular English-language television station, and Spark TV, the first female-focused, and fastest-growing television station in Uganda.

Nation Media Group is seeking a qualified, experienced, and result-oriented professional to fill the position of Electrician. This is a full-time position based in Kampala, Uganda.

Job Purpose:

To maintain the press and auxiliary equipment in the plant, install and commission new equipment, and supervise service level providers.

Main Responsibilities:

1. Maintenance Planning
   • Plan production maintenance for weekly, monthly, bi-monthly, quarterly, half-yearly, and yearly maintenance tasks.
   • Ensure that all tasks specified by the planner are carried out on due dates in accordance with the approved procedures.
2. Supervision and Compliance
   • Supervise service level providers to carry out proper maintenance on equipment when due.
   • Counter-check the work assigned to Electrical Technicians to ensure thoroughness.
   • Ensure the use of quality work practices.
3. Breakdown Management
   • Attend to breakdowns promptly during production and solve problems within the shortest time possible.
4. Installation and Commissioning
   • Install and commission new equipment, including hardware and software.

Required Qualifications:

• Academic:
  • Basic University degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
• Professional:
  • Engineer registration board certificate.
• Experience:
  • At least 2 years of working experience in a similar role.
