About the Company:
Innovations for Poverty Action (IPA) is seeking a (Senior) Policy Communications Associate to join its Global Communications team. IPA conducts rigorous research spanning multiple countries and topics in Asia, Africa, and Latin America, providing a unique opportunity to collaborate with a diverse global team.

Position Summary:
The (Senior) Policy Communications Associate will be responsible for translating technical research into easily understandable language for various audiences. This role involves creating communication materials, including summaries, briefs, presentations, data visualizations, and more, to convey technical research to non-technical audiences across different sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze academic papers and technical reports, particularly impact evaluations conducted through rigorous research methods.
  • Distill complex information into concise summaries, briefs, data visualizations, and clear presentations tailored for non-technical audiences.
  • Collaborate closely with research and policy staff across 20 country offices and 8 sector teams to provide strategic communication guidance.
  • Copy-edit documents to ensure clarity, adherence to established writing guidelines, and clearly defined target audiences and objectives.
  • Maintain website content to reflect IPA’s latest research findings and developments.
  • Contribute ideas and content for communication campaigns, including fundraising and social media initiatives.
  • Develop communication materials showcasing IPA’s work and impact, including presentations, documents, website content, and impact cases.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, International Development, Economics, Public Policy, or related fields; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Solid understanding of international development and econometrics.
  • Proficiency in English essential; fluency in French preferred; Spanish proficiency advantageous.
  • Strong written English skills and the ability to simplify complex information concisely.
  • Ability to present information visually through presentations and data visualization.
  • Design skills, including experience with design software like Canva and InDesign, advantageous.
  • Exceptional organizational abilities, including the capacity to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively within a diverse team environment.
