Job Title: Field Support Assistant
Reports To: Systems Administrator

Job Summary: The Field Support Assistant will play a crucial role in ensuring the continuous operation of all NIRA field equipment and servers, maintaining a seamless flow of data from field servers to the central server for processing and vice versa.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assisting in implementing and enforcing comprehensive maintenance procedures for NIRA technology equipment and servers.
- Supporting data backup and recovery in adherence to the data backup policy.
- Performing regular tests and evaluations to uphold data security, privacy, and integrity.
- Monitoring field server performance, implementing necessary changes, and applying updates when required.
- Contributing to the development and implementation of processes for fault resolution, data loss prevention, and drafting disaster recovery plans.
- Participating in data migration and archiving activities.
- Monitoring field server performances, data usage, and storage space, and supporting backup and recovery procedures.
- Creating and managing reports, visualizations, and dashboards for field servers.
- Supporting initiatives to optimize and enhance server security.
- Assisting in the repair, maintenance, and inspection of machines, tools, and equipment.
- Documenting server failures, corrective actions, service performance, and setup/downtimes.
- Ensuring strict adherence to data protection and privacy regulations, including the Data Protection and Privacy Act 2019.
- Performing any other duties assigned by the Manager Information Systems.
Qualifications / Education:
- Bachelor’s degree with Honours in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or related field.
- Proficiency in various programming languages and technical skills.
- Hands-on experience with server standards and end-user applications.
- Excellent understanding of data backup, recovery, security, integrity, and SQL.
- Familiarity with server designs, documentation, and coding practices.
Experience and Skills:
- Previous experience as a field support administrator is advantageous.
- Strong problem-solving skills with an algorithmic approach.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Capability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Comfortable with extended periods of computer work.
- Flexibility to work night shifts and weekends when necessary.
- Attention to detail, teamwork, good organizational skills, and cost awareness.
