Job Title: Internal Auditor (Fresher Jobs)
Organization: Uganda Retirement Benefits Regulatory Authority (URBRA)
Duty Station: Kampala, Uganda
Reports to: Senior Internal Auditor
About Us: The Uganda Retirement Benefits Regulatory Authority manages retirement plans for Uganda’s public workforce, ensuring the responsible management of pension trust funds. Our primary mandates include regulating retirement benefits schemes, supervising institutions offering retirement benefits products and services, protecting the interests of scheme members and beneficiaries, and promoting the development of the retirement benefits sector.
Job Summary: The Internal Auditor will contribute to the effectiveness of risk management, control, and governance processes by conducting audits in accordance with the Internal Audit Charter.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Implement the annual audit plan.
- Conduct operation, financial, and compliance audits, and follow up on recommendations.
- Advise on internal controls, risk management, and governance issues.
- Review URBRA’s operations for compliance with policies and guidelines.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of risk management controls and governance processes.
- Review operations for weaknesses in risk policies and guidelines.
- Draft internal audit reports and support risk management projects.
- Assist in audit report preparation.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
- Honors Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, Business Administration, Risk Management, or related field OR full professional qualifications in Certified Public Accountants of Uganda (ICPAU), Association of Chartered Certified Accountants UK.
- At least two years of experience in auditing in the public sector.
