Job Title: Pharmacy Dispenser 

Organization: Lifeline International Hospital

Duty Station: Kampala

 

Roles / Responsibilities:

  • Preparation, dispensing of prescriptions and stock control, ordering, and re-stocking of the dispensary.
  • To cross-check the prescriptions and consult or communicate whenever there is doubt about the appropriateness of an item, a dose of a drug, or labeling instructions.
  • Operation of efficient stock control appropriate to the needs of the dispensary.
  • Ensuring the drugs are received and stored in an appropriate manner, in accordance with manufacturers’ instructions.
  • Using a computer to keep records up to date.
  • Handling controlled drugs.
  • Politely communicating with the patients, handing out prescriptions to patients or their representatives, and checking the patients’ names.
  • Perform other duties as instructed.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must have a certificate/diploma in pharmacy from a recognized institution.
  • At least 2 years experience working within the healthcare facility.
