Job Title: 4 Female Resident Enumerators – Makerere University Jobs 2022

Makerere University School of Public Health Profile:

Makerere University School of Public Health (MakSPH) is implementing the Performance Monitoring for Action (PMA) project, designed to generate data to address key programmatic and policy-related issues, with a focus on family planning. The project team completed Phase 2 activities in May 2021. Phase 3 data collection will start in September 2022. The Phase 3 survey will be conducted in 141 Enumeration areas (EAs) across the country including health facilities serving these areas as well as conducting client exit interviews at these selected facilities.

Data will be collected from 141 enumeration areas located in 15 sub-regions (North Buganda, South Buganda, Ankole, Kigezi, Teso, Bukedi, Busoga, Acholi, Lango, West Nile, Karamoja, Bunyoro, Tooro, Elgon and Kampala) across the entire country.

 

 

Job Summary:

We are recruiting a team of trained, experienced, and dedicated female Resident Enumerators for a period of about 30 days during September 2022 to work in the Elgon region.

 

 

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct mapping and listing of households in the sampled Enumeration Areas
  • Perform field data collection activities including administering informed consent, completing interviews in accordance with the study protocol
  • Provide correct responses to the questions about the study protocol before or during data collection activities
  • Collect data and participate in data management processes including validation to ensure quality data collection
  • Any other duties assigned by the management of the study team

 

 

Minimum Qualifications for Makerere University Jobs 2022:

  • The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree.
  • Candidates without a degree but have demonstrated experience in collecting data for at least 2 major surveys in the last 5 years using Mobile Assisted Data collection applications like Open Data Kit, Hoji, and Survey CTO can apply.
  • Proficiency in both spoken and written English and Lumasaba or Kupsabin.
  • Prior experience of at least three years in conducting similar rigorous data
  • collection activities using Mobile Assisted data collection applications (ODK, Hoji,
  • Survey CTO, etc)- Name the survey and lead persons.
  • Prior involvement in Mapping and Listing of Households
  • Face-to-face interviews for quantitative data using mobile-assisted applications
  • Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills, and ability to follow study-specific procedures and guidelines reliably
  • Ability to spend an extended period in rural areas and away from home
  • Willing to reside in the district(s) for the entire study period
  • Ability to work under stringent deadlines and independently with minimal supervision
  • Possession of a Certificate in Good Clinical Practice and/or Human Subjects Protection
  • Prior data collection experience in the selected region is desired
  • Experience in the use of electronic data collection devices

Note: Recruitment of Resident Enumerators will mainly be based in the above-mentioned study region.
