Marie Stopes Uganda (MSU) is a marketing-focused, results-oriented social business that uses modern management and marketing techniques to provide family planning and reproductive healthcare across every district of Uganda. For over 20 years, Marie Stopes Uganda (MSU) has been working to provide voluntary family planning (FP) services to thousands of men and women across the country. MSU is the largest, most specialized private FP and reproductive health (RH) organization working in every district of Uganda with approximately 30% of modern contraceptive market share.

 

 

Job Summary

Under the supervision of the Data Manager, the Data officer will assist in providing support to mobile application-based information system users. He/she will ensure consistency and integrity of data; oversee the collection and reporting of information under the project. He/She will be responsible for training VHT’s and Health workers on mobile application and devices use.

 

 

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Independently analyze, solve, and correct issues in real time, providing problem resolution end-to-end
  • Create ad-hoc and standard reports as required
  • Conduct routine data quality assessments on program databases
  • Build the capacity of project and partner staff in Data Management
  • Perform other duties as assigned

 

 

Minimum Qualifications:

Knowledge and Experience

  • Knowledge of Family Planning is an added advantage
  • Ability to work in deadline-driven/results-orientated atmospheres
  • Excellent oral and writing abilities.
  • Good team player.
  • Good planner

Qualifications and Training (essential/ desirable)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Systems Management, IT or related field.
  • At least two (2) years of relevant work experience in data management.
  • Mobile application systems working experience is an added advantage.
  • Proficiency in data management and analytic software preferably MS Excel.
