The Funds for Africa’s Future is an asset manager that invests early in mission driven founders solving hard problems in large markets. Our mission is to build an African future by turning our most difficult challenges into global business opportunities. We have 80+ portfolio companies with $30M+ USD under management. Our fund is backed by well known successful African and international founders as well as global VCs such as Andela, Paystack, Jumpbike and investors at Local Globe. Job Summary:
This is a 6 months program for aspiring professionals with little or no work experience who are interested in building a career in the VC space and helping Future Africa to pursue its mission of helping entrepreneurs solve hard problems in large market. We are looking to retain our most outstanding young graduates after successful completion of the internship program.
Roles and Responsibilities:
In this role, you’ll often find yourself…
- Carrying out research and data analysis based on request.
- Managing and following up on the assigned tasks.
- Consolidating and analyzing data.
- Serving as support for the team when necessary by shadowing assigned internal Mentors.
- Ensuring that all assigned tasks & projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget.
- Providing support for the facilitation of meetings with clients, partners, advisers and our team.
- Supporting in the drafting of transaction documents such as pitchbooks and models.
- Strategizing on how to improve our products and services.
Minimum Qualifications
- Proven track record of academic excellence from one of the top Universities in Africa.
- Outstanding Extracirricular activities (such as Community service & developement, Sports, Volunteering, etc.)
- Good communication skills (Verbal, Written & Presentation skills).
- Veracious appetite for feedback, hardwork and professional & personal development.
- Good administration and IT skills, including the use of Microsoft packages such as PowerPoint, Excel and Word.
- Ability to work remotely with fast & reliable internet and independently.
- An African national and/or resident with a positive attitude and growth mindset.
- Ability to use initiative and work with a team
