Job Summary:
The Manager International Remittance is responsible for setting the overall product/product line strategy and vision, ensuring timely and robust planning and execution all through the product lifecycle; including, gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements and finally ensuring the successful deployment of the product in the needed areas. The role is also expected to understand and map customer journeys in order to be able to pre-empt typical demands and cater to them in-time
The Manager International Remittance reports to SM BankTech and is an individual contributor. The role maintains liaison with Group Fintech Products & Services team, as and when required
Roles and Responsibilities:
Strategy Implementation
- Abide by and execute the functional strategy cascaded by the functional lead
- Assist in review of the functional strategy and roadmap, in collaboration with the functional lead, to ensure its alignment with the changing dynamics of the internal and external ecosystem
Governance
Strategic Meetings
- Participate in strategic meetings, when required
- Execute OpCo wide transformation initiatives, when required by the functional lead
- Implement adequate risk mitigation and controls, with directions from the functional lead
- Assist in the evaluation baseline of Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and KPIs, when required
- Assist in the preparation of proposal on change initiatives SLA, policies and procedures, when required
Escalations
- Escalate issues that will result in severe time, scope, productivity, and cost or resource impact to functional lead
Function Tactical
- Execute projects initiated in the specific sub-function
- Abide by the established objectives, targets and budgets for the sub-function, when required
- Document identified key risks, issues and dependencies and set mitigation actions, with guidance from the functional lead
- Prepare documentation required for sign-off on tactical changes
Performance
- Ensure execution in alignment with divisional strategy
Reporting
- Report on a daily basis to the functional lead relating to progress made within the work area and in accordance with the measurement metrics set by the organisation
- Report on an ad hoc basis on specific projects, as required
Budgets
- Abide by function’s budgets in line with business objectives
- Abide by project initiative budgets in line with business objectives
Operational Delivery
The role is accountable for the following work area outcomes:
Strategy & Analytics, Budgeting, Data and Reporting
- Execute policies, procedures and guidelines cascaded by the functional lead and ensure compliance with the same
- Comply with the set governance mechanisms, under supervision from the functional lead
- Evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of International Remittance and Bank Push & Pull strategies and propose and offer suggestions for improvements
International Remittance and Bank Push & Pull Operations
- Work closely with SM to develop and deploy International Remittance and Bank Push & Pull product roadmap in the OpCo, in line with the overall Group strategy, and ensure appropriate prioritization of projects is undertaken
- Conduct extensive market and region research and create realistic user stories for solution optimization
- Customize group provided product design in line with OpCo specific local nuances and take sign-off from higher management
- Benchmark region best practices and conduct extensive research to identify appropriate pricing for products. Develop proposals to amend products pricing in line with country level nuances
- Monitor revenue and cost for the product portfolio to maintain profitability as per organization strategy and business plan
- Collaborate with the CVM to develop & analyze loyalty/reward programs
- Research and analyze customer behaviour in specific geography to design loyalty rewards, in line with the overarching guidelines set by Group
- Benchmark best practices in the market, prepare business case and present to senior management
- Collaborate with Marketing to identify potential strategic partners to drive the rewards program
- Manage promotional calendar with third party services to drive sales growth back into the business
- Manage the loyalty program operations (including transactions on rewards to be disbursed)
- Use relevant metrics and measures to monitor existing loyalty & reward programs
- Gather customer feedback on product performance and relay to the Group product teams, in a bid to improve product performance
- Manage day-to-day product operations and establish internal best practices in order to ensure effective utilization of the products
- Strengthen customer feedback loops, and scale product knowledge within the OpCo
- Manage Quality of Service of the Product to ensure seamless customer experience
- Monitor & Analyze traffic loads and in county system & platform capacity
- Capture Voice of Customer through CSAT surveys, product reviews, complaints etc.
- Other tasks and duties, as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
- Degree in any related discipline or its equivalent in area of specialization
- Relevant post graduate qualification is an advantage
Experience & Skills:
- A minimum of 2 to 3 years’ total experience in International Remittance or allied field is required
- Experience in Fintech, banking or Mobile Money is preferred
- Experience working in a global/multinational enterprise with a good understanding emerging markets is preferred
