Job Title: Shift Supervisor – Mukwano Industries Uganda Jobs 2022

Reports to: Production Officer / Production Manager
Mukwano Industries Uganda Limited Profile:
The Mukwano Group of Companies is the leading manufacturer of Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) in the Great Lakes region, producing a wide range of market leader brands in soaps, edible cooking oils and fats, detergents, beverages, personal care products and plastics.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Supervise and take responsibility for a production shift
- Supervise and provide technical guidance and support to subordinates in the manufacturing department
- Oversee preventive maintenance and report any malfunctions of the machines to the productions Officer
- Assign work to subordinates
- In liaison with the productions officer assist in the appraisal and performance of subordinates
- Prepare daily shift production reports, *Participate in routine stock taking at the plant
- Monitor movement of finished products from the production plant to the warehouse
- Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards
- Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources; maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures
- Any other duties assigned by the Production Officer.
Qualifications
- Degree in Industrial Chemistry, Food science and technology
- At least 2 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing plant in a supervisory position.
- Ability to effectively control manpower
- Good communication skills including reading skills
- An aptitude for math
- Mechanical ability, ability to work in high places
- The ability to get along with co-workers
- The ability to keep up to date with changing technology,
- Creativity
- The ability to do precision work
- Good knowledge of HACCP and general ISO standards are a must.
