Alliance Française De Kampala Profile:

Alliance française de Kampala is a non-profit Ugandan association, a cultural center dedicated to:

  • the promotion of the French language,
  • the promotion of the Francophone and Ugandan cultures,
  • and the exchanges between these cultures.

In this perspective, the Alliance française de Kampala:

  • offers a wide range of French classes for all ages and levels and French official diplomas as well,
  • organises cultural events such as festivals, concerts, exhibitions, film screenings, conferences…,
  • favors and implements cultural exchanges between francophone countries and Uganda.

The Alliance française de kampala is the cultural and language operator of the Embassy of France in Uganda.

 

 

Responsibilities: 

Sales:

  • Welcoming visitors, potential clients
  • Giving information on courses, fees, timings, exams and certifications
  • Managing students’ enrolments to courses
  • Taking memberships
  • Answering queries on the phone and on mail
  • Giving information on Alliance Française de Kampala’s cultural activities
  • Preparation for each new term
  • Creation & development of students’ database on the AF software (entering student data/ contact details etc.)

Community manager:

  • Collaborate with the Communication Officer in charge of the production of on-line and off-line advertising materials, including leaflets, posters, flyers, Lien Magazine, e-newsletters
  • Drive sales and new memberships through the social platforms
  • Participate in brainstorming to refine the social media strategy for the organization ensuring it aligns with the organization’s brand.
  • Participate in the effort to maximise followers’ social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Pinterest.
  • Help with linking our social media and monthly newsletter.
  • Respond to customer comments both positive and negative on social media.
  • Help planning and preparing content across all platforms and maintaining the content calendar ensuring social media content is regular, relevant and engaging.
  • Indicative working hours: Monday to Friday (9am to 5.30pm) and Saturday (9am to 2pm)

 

 

Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in sales and marketing, or at least 2 years of sales or marketing experience
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills (verbal & writing)
  • Good team player
  • Proficiency with MS Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and ICT
  • Rigorous, autonomous and result-orientated
  • Synthesizing and reporting skills
  • Language: Excellent command of English (written and oral), knowledge of French is a plus. If no knowledge of French, the person will be asked to learn it and be given access to French classes at the AFK.
  • It will be required that the person passes one level per year up to B2 level.
