Pangea Publishing Uganda works to create culturally relevant content and programs that help children learn to read and inspire them to read more often.

 

 

Job Summary

The Design Associate plays a critical role in the designing of our high-quality learning materials to be both educational and engaging.  The Design Associate works primarily within the Pangea Publishing team, reporting to the Director of Publishing, but also assists with the Communications Department. The position is based in Kampala but may require infrequent travel.

 

 

Roles and Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities:

Design and layout of Pangea Publishing books to be “Print-Ready”

  • KPI: Layout 30 books per quarter.

Design images for print materials and social media to support Pangea Publishing Sales team.

  • KPI: Assist Design Lead with updating catalog monthly
  • KPI: Design social media images upon request in a timely manner

Secondary Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the recruitment and management of contracted illustrators
  • Assist with the development of brand assets

 

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • The ideal candidate should preferably hold a Bachelor’s Degree in the following fields: Arts, Design or related area. Preferred
  • Expert command of Adobe Creative Suite. Required
  • Superior oral and written communication skills in English. Required
  • Computer fluency and understanding of Google Suite and Canva Pro platform. Preferred
