Job Opportunity: Social Economic Strengthening Assistant

About the Role

The Social Economic Strengthening (SES) Assistant will support the IDI MWP DREAMS Program, focusing on economic empowerment for adolescent girls and young women (AGYW) in line with the Empowerment and Livelihood for Adolescents (ELA) model. Key responsibilities include facilitating vocational skilling, supporting savings groups, linking AGYW to employment opportunities, and monitoring their progress post-training.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct market assessments to identify economic opportunities and map community resources.
  • Organize and manage vocational trainings, Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLA), and related activities.
  • Develop and implement work plans for SES packages in line with DREAMS layering guidance.
  • Supervise artisans delivering vocational training, including financial literacy and entrepreneurship programs.
  • Conduct field visits to monitor SES activities and ensure participation of eligible AGYW.
  • Document training outcomes and report on SES outputs in standard databases.
  • Advocate for AGYW’s inclusion in government programs, internships, and apprenticeships.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly performance reports and document success stories.

Qualifications and Person Specification

Academic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Development Studies, Business Administration, or a related field.

Experience and Skills

  • At least 3 years of professional experience in PEPFAR-funded economic strengthening interventions.
  • Training in income generation, entrepreneurship, life skills, monitoring and evaluation, or HIV/AIDS is an added advantage.
  • Strong partnership-building skills with community agencies and implementing partners.
