Uganda Airlines is Uganda’s flagship national passenger and cargo carrier. We provide scheduled air transportation services in East Africa and near-international markets.
On 23rd April 2019, we received our first two Bombardier CRJ900s, the first of a growing fleet. During our first phase of operations, we will be flying to the cities of Nairobi, Mombasa, Dar es Salaam, Kilimanjaro, Juba, Bujumbura, and Mogadishu.
With the upcoming arrival and addition of new planes to our fleet, we will expand our route map and fly to DRC, Zanzibar, Asmara, Hargeisa, Lusaka, Harare, Johannesburg, Djibouti, and Addis Ababa, and plan to make international flights connecting Uganda to Europe, the Middle East, West Africa and Asia.
Job Profile:
Implement and perform cabin grooming activities and coordinate all aircraft cabin cleaning activities as and when required.
Roles and responsibilities:
Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities
- Provide leadership to cleaning staff and supervision of cleaning activities.
- Provide prompt response to service requests from clients
- Ensure aircraft cleanliness as per Airline and company standards for the quick and safe turnaround of aircraft.
- Ensure efficient roistering and duty allocations to effectively cover cleaning activities.
- Carry out regular checks of staff working tools to ensure they are effective and advise management as necessary.
- Participate in recruitment, training, and mentoring of staff.
- Help, guide, and counsel staff in order to achieve a happy, disciplined, loyal, competent team of staff.
- Monitor staff compliance with safety policies and procedures; ensure staffs wear appropriate PPE.
- Take charge for the security of cleaning supplies and equipment.
- Health & Safety Responsibilities:
- Comply and adhere to the standard operating procedures, circulars, directives, bulletins, instructions, and notices.
- Report workplace hazards and near misses to immediate supervisors and quality department
- Submit hazard/ near miss- occurrence report or a confidential report as required.
- Supports as and when internal and or external Safety and quality audits occur.
- Provide inputs during risk assessment process as applicable, support and participate in Safety investigations as and when occur.
- Follow and adhere to PPE compliances at all time
- Any other duties as may be assigned.
Competence:
- Communication skills, Interpersonal skills, Organization skills. Planning skills, Housekeeping skills, Flexible and Assertive, Basic computer skills Technical Qualifications (if applicable): National Driving Permit and Airside Driving Permit (ADP).
Qualifications
- Diploma or Equivalent
- At least two years in a first-level supervisory position.
