Participatory Ecological Land Use Management (PELUM) Association is a regional network of over 250 civil society organizations in 12 countries in East, Central and Southern Africa working in the area of participatory ecological land use management. The Association works to improve the livelihoods of small-scale farmers and the sustainability of farming communities, by fostering ecological land use management. Country chapters include Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Malawi, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Lesotho, Botswana, South Africa, Swaziland and Ethiopia.

Roles and Responsibilities:
Youth in Agroecology and Business Learning Track Africa (YALTA), hosted and implemented by Participatory Ecological Land Use Management (PELUM Uganda), seeks to recruit and support young business entrepreneurs for a one-year Agroecology business mentorship trajectory. The trajectory is aimed at providing individual support through mentorship and coaching on topics regarding the application of agroecological principles for enhanced business growth with socio-economic and environmental benefits. This will be facilitated by seasoned and also passionate business mentors who are willing to walk the Agroecology business journey with youth to make their Agroecology business ideas/dreams a reality.
Minimum Qualifications:
The mentee therefore; should be between the ages of 18-35, rural and urban, start-ups and progressive in the agri-food sector especially those involved in production, value addition, agro-input supply and agro-processing and agricultural services.
The trajectory will commence on June 1 2021- May 30 2022, for a period of 12 months (taking a total of 10 days off your time).
