About UCU:

UCU Uganda Jobs: Uganda Christian University was founded when the historic Bishop Tucker Theological College was promoted as a university in 1997. Bishop Tucker Theological College trained clergy and educators during its 84-year history from 1913-1997. Uganda Christian University was established in 1997.

Key responsibilities 

1. Supervise open access section including circulation of library materials.
2. Shelving of information materials (books).
3. Charging & discharging of library information resources.
4. Supervise reserve books and other information resources.
5. Checking all out-going books and other information materials.
6. Ensure the Cleaning of shelves and other furniture.
7. Ensure the safety of library materials.
8. Assist in the technical work (cataloguing& classification and other book processing related work).
9. Assist in the repair of library information materials.
10. Assist in entering data into the library Database, retrieval of data and registration of new users.
11. Guiding users on how to access e- resources and the quick reference service.
12. Any other official duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.

Preferred Skills:

1. A Diploma in Library and Information Science/Archives and Records Management.

2. Relevant experience not required.

3. Strong customer focus.

4. Must be computer literate in at least two library software packages.

5. Should have high degree of integrity.
6. Must have customer care attributes.
7. Must be willing to work for long hours.

8. Should be a mature and committed Christian.
