WTU works in partnership with United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).
Job Summary: The Database Assistant provides database and record management support and performs various administrative and clerical duties. The Database Assistant handles different types of data as dictated by the organisation.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Reporting and Documentation:
In charge of the collection and editing of data from field officers.
Responsible for data entry and updating of all information.
Act as the first point of contact for any data related requirements for all staff.
Data Quality Control and Management:
Check databases for changes and errors and to make corrections as needed.
Responsible for extracting information and data in a report form for other staff.
Being the first point of contact for any data related requirements for all staff.
Responsible for generating reports and documents
Assist in the design and development of new databases modification of database structures, entry forms and reports as required
Up-date WTU web-site with new reports and pictures on quarterly basis.
The incumbent will manage the FB page and share any existing news.
Posting new items on the website like scholarship availability.
Update DAFI data base with students’ academic performance on semester basis and provide report on academic performance twice a year.
Update DAFI data base with students’ personal details after new selection.
Update section of former DAFI scholars with employment details and solicit information through other social network sites. Involved in planning the storage capacity of the database while working with IT.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
The ideal candidate for the Windle Trust Uganda Database Assistant job opportunity must hold a Bachelor’s degree in a related field
Computer literacy i.e. mastery of office software (MS Word, Excel, and Power Point)
Excellent communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
High level of integrity and commitment.
