About the Role:
SNV is seeking a Systems Transformation/MEL Advisor for the Seas of Change (SoC) project. This role involves spearheading the development and execution of the Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) framework, fostering systems-thinking, and ensuring alignment of project activities with transformative goals. The advisor will work closely with the Programme Manager and Pathway Leads to track progress, capture learning, and provide actionable insights to support adaptive management.
The position also includes capacity-building activities for team members and partners, facilitating learning exchanges, and developing knowledge products to enhance evidence-based decision-making.
About the Project:
The SoC programme operates at the nexus of Regenerative Agriculture (RA) and the Productive Use of Renewable Energy (PURE). Its mission is to foster system transformation by leveraging existing initiatives and partnerships in Uganda and East Africa. By facilitating synergies and encouraging collaboration, SNV aims to build a movement towards a sustainable future where people and the planet thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and implementation of the MEL framework to track programme progress and impact.
- Institutionalise systems-thinking within the team and partners to align with strategic goals.
- Analyse data collected by partners to measure progress and inform adaptive management.
- Engage directly with programme partners to build capacity in understanding the MEL framework and tools.
- Organise learning events and exchange visits, and document learnings in various knowledge products.
- Consolidate and review impact results, ensuring compliance with donor and organisational requirements.
- Provide guidance on corporate-level results and support reporting processes.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Education: Master’s degree in Statistics, Qualitative Economics, Social Studies, International Development, or related fields.
- Experience: At least 10 years in MEL-focused roles, with demonstrated familiarity with donor and organisational reporting requirements.
- Proficiency in quantitative data analysis tools (e.g., SPSS, STATA) and advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Proven ability to develop and disseminate knowledge products such as case studies, learning briefs, and success stories.
- Strong interpersonal skills to foster a learning culture and engage research partners effectively.
