About the Role:
Empower Through Health (ETH) is hiring 2–3 Project & Research Officers to support its operations in Iganga, Eastern Uganda. This role involves managing global health research projects, nonprofit administrative tasks, and implementing community health initiatives. Employees will live alongside Ugandan staff, working at ETH headquarters and traveling monthly to Mpunde Village. Housing, transport, and a cost-of-living stipend will be provided.
Key Responsibilities:
- Research & Program Management:
- Manage longitudinal global health research projects.
- Conduct literature reviews, draft, and edit manuscripts.
- Collaborate with community health workers on public health initiatives.
- Travel monthly to ETH’s rural health center to engage in research and implementation.
- Administrative & Communication Tasks:
- Oversee the ETH university chapter system remotely.
- Manage donor communications, fundraising drives, and social media presence.
- Coordinate the Global Health Equity Symposium.
- Plan and manage the Global Health Experiential Fellowship and Internship programs.
- Monitor budgets, synthesize impact data, and produce reports.
- Community Health Work:
- Create and administer community-wide surveys.
- Lead focus group discussions, mass immunizations, drug administrations, and education programs.
- Optimize clinical systems in collaboration with local teams.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from a four-year accredited university by Spring 2025.
- Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Flexible, culturally sensitive, and open-minded to intercultural experiences.
- Team player with impeccable interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to work independently.
