Job Title: Nurture Space Assistant

Job Summary:

The Nurture Space Assistant will manage and maintain the nurture center within IDI, ensuring a comfortable, clean, and supportive environment for nursing mothers. The role involves on-site support, maintaining cleanliness, providing resources, and ensuring that all nursing mothers’ needs are met in alignment with IDI’s values, wellness initiatives, and policies.

Department: Employee Relations and Welfare Section (HR Department)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the Nurture Space is always clean, hygienic, and well-organized.
  • Maintain compliance with workplace health and safety standards.
  • Register and document all children, mothers, and minders accessing the premises.
  • Provide a caring and stimulating environment for children.
  • Prepare and set up the space in readiness for daily activities.
  • Maintain and oversee the proper use of Nurture Space equipment and resources.
  • Track space usage and maintain an equitable access schedule for nursing mothers.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding personal information and records of children, parents, and minders.
  • Enforce policies governing the Nurture Space and propose improvements when necessary.
  • Sterilize toys and play areas to ensure a safe and engaging environment for children.
  • Update parents and supervisors on the condition of children and notify about health concerns.
  • Resolve minor operational issues and escalate major concerns to the supervisor.
  • Support budgeting activities for Nurture Space operations and management.
  • Coordinate end-of-month meetings with parents.
  • Compile and submit monthly reports on space usage and activities.
  • Advise parents and supervisors about children’s well-being and manage health risks.
  • Reject admission of visibly unwell children or those exceeding the prescribed age.
  • Purchase vitamins, supplements, and other necessities.
  • Participate in additional Institute activities as guided.

Qualifications and Experience:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Handling and Care or a related field.
  • Professional training certificate in Early Childhood Handling is an added advantage.

Experience:

  • At least 1 year of experience in a childcare setting (e.g., preschool, daycare, orphanage, or similar environment).
  • Familiarity with baby care equipment management.

Additional Certifications:

  • First aid and CPR certification is an advantage.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Proficiency in MS Office suite.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of childcare environments and relevant regulations.
  • Creativity and problem-solving abilities.
  • Customer service or healthcare/wellness-related experience is an added advantage.
