Key Duties and Responsibilities

Overall Coordination

  • Provide overall coordination for the RECAP programme at the regional level.
  • Develop and implement regional work plans and strategies in collaboration with key stakeholders.

Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration

  • Organize regional meetings, workshops, and consultations to ensure stakeholder engagement and collaboration.
  • Foster strong relationships and maintain effective communication channels among all stakeholders.

Capacity Building

  • Support capacity-building initiatives to enhance the ability of country stakeholders to implement their work plans.

Reporting and Documentation

  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting of program activities, achievements, and challenges.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of processes, meetings, and consultations.
  • Prepare regular progress reports for internal and external stakeholders.

Coordination with WHO Country Offices

  • Work closely with WHO country offices to align and coordinate national-level activities.
  • Provide technical support to RECAP countries as needed.
  • Monitor financial and technical implementation.

Policy Development and Implementation

  • Support the creation and enhancement of regulatory and policy tools, such as nutrient profile models, front-of-pack labelling, and nutrition-related taxation.
  • Participate in policy dialogues to promote evidence-informed legislative actions on nutrition and physical activity.
  • Assist in developing fundraising proposals and other relevant tasks as assigned.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience

Educational Qualifications

  • Essential: A first university degree in public health, nutrition policy studies, or a related field.
  • Desirable: Certification in project management, public policy, policy analysis, health taxes, or related public health specialties.

Experience

  • Essential:
    • At least five years of relevant experience in policy development and implementation for public health or nutrition.
    • Demonstrated experience with regulations and policies promoting healthy diets and preventing NCDs.
    • Proven ability to manage large-scale health or nutrition programs at a regional or international level.
    • Experience with international organizations, governments, NGOs, and health sector stakeholders.
  • Desirable:
    • Experience developing evidence-informed guidance for health taxes and nutrition policies.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Excellent project management, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal abilities to maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in facilitating workshops, consultations, and meetings.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and evaluation frameworks.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant tools.

Language Proficiency

  • Essential: Proficiency in English (written and spoken).
  • Desirable: Working knowledge of French or Portuguese.

Work Hours: 8 hours per day
