Role Overview

As the Customer Marketing Manager, you will drive UBL’s Below-the-Line (BTL) brand strategy, ensuring exceptional consumer experiences in on-trade and off-trade environments. You will play a pivotal role in coordinating sales and marketing efforts, developing trade strategies, and executing impactful BTL activities to achieve volume growth ambitions and strengthen UBL’s market presence.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Planning and Coordination

  • Drive joined-up business planning and commercial coordination of all trade and BTL activities.
  • Develop and entrench trade and category strategies in the commercial planning process.
  • Design, procure, and coordinate the placement of merchandise and POS materials.

BTL Brand Execution

  • Drive the planning and implementation of BTL brand objectives and strategies.
  • Lead sales driver programs from development to execution, ensuring they align with brand goals.

Customer Engagement

  • Foster strong engagement with customers and influence in-trade execution through commercial planning and brand strategies.
  • Steward the business’s interaction with retail trade to enhance consumer experiences.

Team Leadership

  • Lead and motivate a team of 5-7 members, fostering collaboration across sales, marketing, and other business functions.

Performance Monitoring

  • Ensure robust measurement and evaluation frameworks for all trade programs.
  • Regularly review and report on the effectiveness of BTL activities.

Qualifications and Experience

Academic Background

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.

Professional Experience

  • At least 6 years in a commercial role, including Sales, Marketing, or Customer Marketing.
  • Proven success in brand management or customer marketing is ideal.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to deliver results through others.

Key Competencies

  • Leadership and People Management: Coaching, team building, and motivation.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.
  • Commercial Acumen: Financial planning, budgeting, and problem-solving.
  • Technical Proficiency: High degree of systems literacy and time management skills.
