Role Overview

The Credit Relations Officer (CRO) will be responsible for conducting due diligence on potential borrowers, analyzing their creditworthiness, managing loan repayment collections, and ensuring compliance with Numida’s credit methodology. The CRO will also provide exceptional customer service to Numida’s clients and contribute to the continuous improvement of its product offerings and processes.

Reporting Line: Reports to the Credit Team Leader

Key Responsibilities

Loan Application and Credit Analysis

  • Conduct due diligence interviews with loan applicants via phone.
  • Perform financial analysis and validate business activities and financial situations.
  • Provide well-supported recommendations to the Credit Committee for loan approvals.

Loan Repayments and Collections

  • Collect loan repayments as due and escalate delinquent borrowers as per policy.
  • Conduct periodic field visits to monitor repayment activities.

Customer Relationship Management

  • Handle inbound inquiries and resolve client issues promptly via phone and WhatsApp.
  • Provide accurate information about Numida’s products and services.
  • Maintain detailed, honest, and accurate data in the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.

Customer Service and Retention

  • Deliver high-quality service to meet company standards.
  • Resolve complaints effectively and professionally.
  • Generate new business through referral calls.

Collaboration and Product Improvement

  • Collaborate with the Product team on experiments to improve Numida’s services and CRO role efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and principles of customer care.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Microfinance, Business Administration, Commerce, or a related field.
  • Experience: At least 2 years in a credit officer or related role.
  • Skills:
    • Proficiency in Android apps, Google Drive, Google Sheets, and Google Docs.
    • Fluency in English and Swahili (additional Kenyan languages are a plus).
    • Superb customer care and phone etiquette skills.
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Empathy and interpersonal skills to address client needs effectively.
    • Ability to type at least 30 words per minute (desired).
