Job Purpose
The Relationship Manager Home Loans is accountable for growing the Bank’s Mortgage business through sales, service, and retention of a specified portfolio, ensuring portfolio quality in line with departmental targets and Bank policies. The role involves offering mortgage customers banking and financial advisory services to achieve sales performance, examining growth opportunities, enabling sales improvements, and product mix development.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain relationships with customers and ensure service delivery meets client expectations.
- Assess credit requests in conjunction with the credit department, following the bank’s credit standards, policies, and procedures, and recommend actions to the credit department and committee.
- Initiate and coordinate action plans to penetrate new markets.
- Perform, promote, and maintain the highest standards of customer service to maximize returns from existing relationships.
- Develop and implement business growth strategies to maximize profitable sales of all bank products and services. This includes developing direct customer contact and relationships with segment account holders.
- Conduct sales visits to existing and potential top clients, identify sales leads, and report on the home loan portfolio.
- Handle customer queries and complaints, resolving them in a timely manner and escalating unresolved queries in line with the Customer Service Charter.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the bank.
Financial Responsibility
- Responsible for Home Loans sales & financial targets, including customer numbers, liabilities, assets, and revenue growth.
- Responsible for controlling costs within the agreed sales budget.
Education & Training
- A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Commerce, Business Administration, Economics, Statistics, Management, or any relevant field.
- A Certified banking qualification or master’s degree in a relevant field is an added advantage.
- Relevant practical training in business growth in the financial services sector.
Skills & Experience
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in banking or a similar environment.
- Must have a good understanding of consumer banking products, pricing, benefits, positioning, design, and promotions.
- Strong critical thinking, analytical, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Advanced computer literacy, numerical skills, and statistical skills.
- Interpersonal relationship skills with a self-starter, energetic personality and natural networking ability.
- Team player, able to work under pressure and demonstrate excellent judgment.
