Job Overview
The New Vision Printing and Publishing Company Ltd is seeking a dedicated, motivated individual to fill the position of Driver. The Driver will be responsible for transporting staff and company products, ensuring safe and efficient transportation, and maintaining the vehicle’s condition.
Reports to: Transport Supervisor
Key Responsibilities
- Complete all driving assignments as directed by the supervisor.
- Conduct daily pre- and post-trip vehicle maintenance checks.
- Adhere to the company’s transport policy and the road safety act to ensure safe driving.
- Maintain all required documentation for the assigned vehicle.
- Ensure daily cleanliness of the vehicle.
Qualifications and Experience
- Uganda Certificate of Education (U.C.E).
- Certificate in defensive driving.
- Valid driving permit with classes B, C1, D1 & BE.
- At least 3 years of driving experience in a commercial environment.
Technical Competencies
- Basic understanding of vehicle mechanics.
- Basic computer skills.
- Good knowledge of Uganda’s road network.
Behavioral Competencies
- Proficient in English (both written and spoken).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- High level of integrity and confidentiality.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including odd hours and night shifts.
