Scholarship Overview

The Chinese Government is offering scholarships to suitably qualified Ugandan scholars to pursue studies at Undergraduate, Masters, and PhD levels at Chinese universities for the academic year 2025/2026.

Available Fields and Slots

Undergraduate Level:

• Pharmacy – 2 slots

Masters Level:

• Software Engineering – 3 slots
• Railway Engineering – 2 slots
• Production/Process Engineering – 4 slots

PhD Level:

• Engineering – 3 slots

Eligibility Requirements

• Undergraduate (BSc in Pharmacy):
  • Must have completed A-Level in 2022 or 2023.
  • Should have taken Physics, Chemistry, and Biology with at least a “C” grade in essential subjects.
  • Age limit: 25 years.
• Masters Level:
  • A minimum CGPA of 3.60 in the relevant field.
  • At least 2 years of work experience in the relevant field.
  • Age limit: 35 years.
• PhD Level:
  • Age limit: 40 years.

Additional Notes:

• Applicants should not have previously received a Government Scholarship/Sponsorship.
• Those who applied for the Hungaricum Stipendium Scholarship are ineligible.
• Applicants with foreign qualifications must have them equated by UNEB (for undergraduate) or NCHE (for postgraduate).
• A valid passport or proof of passport application is required.

   • Visit the Ministry of Education and Sports website: www.education.go.ug
2. Submit Typed Application Letter:
   • Attach a recent passport photograph.
   • Include personal details: age, gender, course of interest, home district, telephone number, and email address.
   • Include photocopies of academic certificates and transcripts.
