Job Overview:

BRAC Uganda Bank Ltd is hiring a Compliance Manager to ensure the bank’s adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies. This role involves implementing the bank’s compliance program, conducting audits and risk assessments, and training employees on regulatory matters.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and oversee the bank’s compliance program.
• Conduct regular compliance audits and risk assessments.
• Monitor adherence to laws, regulations, and internal policies.
• Identify and address areas of compliance vulnerability and risk.
• Develop corrective action plans to resolve non-compliance issues.
• Provide training and guidance to bank employees on regulatory compliance.
• Keep updated on regulatory changes and advise management on adjustments.
• Collaborate with departments to promote a culture of compliance.
• Prepare and present compliance reports to senior management and the board.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Commerce, Law, Business, Finance, or a related field.
• Preferred: Master’s degree and compliance certifications.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in compliance or a regulatory role, preferably in the banking sector.
• Strong knowledge of banking regulations and laws.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Capability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
• Detail-oriented, with a focus on accuracy and precision.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office tools.
• Skills in investigation, research, and critical analysis.
• Strong organizational and planning abilities.
• Proactive and able to work independently.
