Organizations committed to driving significant shifts in food production, distribution, and consumption can benefit from funding, expert consultations, and a vast array of resources provided by ProVeg.

Key Benefits of the ProVeg Grants Program

  1. Funding:

    • Funding decisions are competitive, with a limited number of grants awarded each year at ProVeg’s discretion.

  3. Personal Consultations:
    • ProVeg provides one-on-one consultations to grantees, focusing on areas such as organizational structure, strategy, and impact initiatives.

    • Resources are focused on enhancing grantees’ knowledge and capacities in food system transformation, strategic outreach, and impact evaluation.

Eligibility Criteria

Organizations and initiatives must focus on transforming food systems and propose innovative, sustainable approaches to drive change in the following areas:

  • Education and Engagement: Working with schools, universities, and community programs to promote plant-based diets and awareness.
  • Influencing Dietary Guidelines: Engaging with policymakers to support guidelines that encourage plant-based diets and reduce reliance on animal-based foods.
  • Healthcare Initiatives: Introducing plant-based education, menus, and dietary recommendations within healthcare settings.
  • Food Industry Collaboration: Organizing events, corporate engagement, and partnerships that encourage the food industry to adopt and promote plant-based options.
  • Labeling and Certifications: Advocacy for clear and informative labeling, including V-Label certifications, to make plant-based choices accessible and transparent.
  • Political Outreach and Movement Building: Engaging policymakers to address food sustainability, climate change, and public health.
  • Public Campaigns: Running public outreach initiatives, including social media and awareness campaigns, to influence consumer choices toward plant-based options.
  • Challenge Campaigns and Veg Festivals: Organizing events or festivals that raise awareness and celebrate plant-based diets.

Additional Considerations for Eligibility:

  • Geographic Preference: Proposals from certain regions receive priority consideration, particularly those from outside the UK, Germany, Netherlands, Czechia, Poland, South Africa, Spain, Belgium, Nigeria, Malaysia, and the US. This preference encourages global participation and targets underrepresented areas.
  • Inclusive Leadership: Priority is given to women-led organizations, people of color, and other marginalized groups. ProVeg is committed to supporting diverse voices in the food system transformation movement.
  • Alignment with ProVeg’s Values: Grantees must adhere to ProVeg’s standards for safe, inclusive, and respectful workplaces. Initiatives should focus on transforming food systems rather than solely improving animal welfare.
