Job Overview
Microhaem Scientifics seeks a highly skilled Engineering Manager to lead all engineering operations in its cGMP-compliant diagnostic kit manufacturing facility. The role involves overseeing a team of engineers, ensuring adherence to cGMP standards, and supporting efficient and safe manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership and Team Management
- Lead and mentor a team of engineers to achieve operational goals and maintain cGMP compliance.
- Foster a collaborative work environment focused on teamwork, accountability, and technical excellence.
- Evaluate team performance, provide feedback, and implement training programs.
Process Improvement and Optimization
- Analyze and optimize production processes to identify bottlenecks and increase efficiency.
- Implement lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Ensure equipment and processes support high-quality product output and cost efficiency.
Equipment and Facility Management
- Oversee installation, maintenance, and calibration of equipment in line with cGMP standards.
- Manage preventive maintenance schedules to maximize uptime and reduce downtime.
- Lead troubleshooting and corrective action efforts for facility and equipment issues.
Project Management
- Manage capital projects, including equipment upgrades and facility expansions, from concept through completion.
- Develop project scopes, budgets, and timelines; ensure projects align with operational goals and regulatory standards.
Compliance and Documentation
- Ensure compliance with cGMP, NDA, and ISO standards through meticulous documentation.
- Collaborate with Quality Assurance for audits, investigations, and root cause analysis of non-conformances.
- Implement change control processes to manage modifications to processes or equipment.
Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Standards
- Develop and enforce EHS procedures to ensure workplace safety.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies to reduce hazards.
- Ensure EHS compliance and lead initiatives to improve safety performance.
Vendor and Stakeholder Management
- Maintain relationships with equipment suppliers and contractors to ensure quality support.
- Work closely with internal teams, including quality, regulatory, supply chain, and production.
- Support regulatory audits, addressing engineering-related inquiries or findings.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, or related field); a Master’s degree is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years in a cGMP-regulated environment, with 3-5 years in a managerial role within pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or diagnostic kit manufacturing.
- Certifications: PMP certification and cGMP training are desirable.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of cGMP requirements, NDA regulations, and ISO standards in manufacturing.
- Skills:
- Proven leadership and cross-departmental communication skills.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting, problem-solving, and corrective action implementation.
- Data-driven with experience in analytical tools for process performance improvement.
- Strong project management skills for overseeing complex engineering projects.
- Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations in a manufacturing setting.
